Summer reading programs for adults, teens wrap up
Two Iowa City readers win iPods; Top 10 authors read by teens, adults announced.
Congratulations to Will Keffala-Gerhard and Amy Goodman, the grand prize winners in this year’s Summer Reading Program iPod Nano drawings. Keffala-Gerhard will be a seventh-grader at Regina this fall. Readers who completed either the teen or adult Summer Reading Programs at the Iowa City Public Library were eligible for the drawings. At ICPL, 211 teens and 485 adults registered for this summer’s programs.
What’s on The Library Channel?
The Library Channel's program schedule is now available online.
ICPL’s Channel is available on local cable channel 10 for viewers who subscribe through Mediacom. Channel 10′s schedule focuses on storytimes, children’s specials, and a variety of adult programs produced at the Iowa City Public Library. City of Literature announcement at Iowa City Book Festival on July 18
Christopher Merrill, president of the UNESCO City of Literature Board of Directors in Iowa City, will introduce the community to the organization created to carry out the City of Literature mission when he speaks Saturday, July 18 at the first Iowa City Book Festival. He will speak at 2:30 p.m. at the festival in Shambaugh Auditorium in the University of Iowa Main Library.
