More than 130 pounds of unwanted prescriptions collected at pharmaceutical disposal event

ECO Iowa City held the area’s first pharmaceutical collection event on Saturday, September 26 in the Sycamore Mall parking lot. During the three-hour event, ECO Iowa City accepted expired and unused pharmaceuticals from 94 people and collected 135.8 pounds of drugs – enough to fill eight 5-gallon buckets.
