ICPL launches Web site for smart phones

by April Harder on December 10th, 2009

HomePageThe Iowa City Public Library is pleased to announce the launch of a redesigned mobile version of the Library’s Web site. For most smart phones, a browser pointed at http://icpl.org/ will automatically be redirected to the mobile site and receive a display specially formatted to fit on smaller screens. Smartphones that are not automatically redirected can access the site directly by going to http://m.icpl.org.

“It brings more of the experience and functionality people are used to on their computer into the palm of their hands,” said Todd Brown, Iowa City Public Library Electronic Resources Librarian.

AboutLibAlmost all of the functionality of the larger format site is available. People can search the catalog, check their accounts, chat online with a Reference Librarian, and contact Library personnel.

Visit your virtual Library branch from your smart phone at http://m.icpl.org to try it today!
