Iowa City gets ready to S-P-E-L-L!

Come cheer on the teams at Iowa City spelling bee on February 18

bee circleIowa City spelling teams are digging out their dictionaries and busily preparing for the 2010 Iowa City S-P-E-L-L-S spelling bee.

Join the fun at the 13th annual adult spelling bee hosted by the Iowa City Public Library Friends Foundation and Hands Jewelers. The sponsored teams will compete at 6:30 p.m. February 18, 2010 in Library Meeting Rooms A, B, and C at the Iowa City Public Library.

Admission is free. Audience members are encouraged to donate a used book for The Book End.

Prizes will be awarded, including the coveted traveling trophy, to the top three finishers as well as the winner of the special audience participation spelling contest.

    Thanks for the question, Barb. Registration for teams is closed, but we welcome audience members to come and spell in a special audience participation spelling contest during the spelling bee. Hope to see you there!
